You have witnessed the crazy amazing talent of the Indonesian Guitar Princess!!! As most people say after hearing her play, what the heck are they putting in the water over there, Ha Ha. Seeing we have had so many amazing Artists, Musicians & Singers come from Indonesia. I need to say, you nailed her name, spot on!!! in my opinion. The thing on her guitar you mentioned is called a Whammy Bar. Ayu will usually use it mostly if the song she is covering calls for it from the original song. She doesn't try to overly use it in her performances, she can bend the strings to get a similar effect. I have been a fan of hers for a long time. She has been killing it on guitar at a very young age, as you will see in her Bio. As you would guess , the guitar was bigger than she was at the time. Even at that fact, she was able to work her way up & down the frets on the neck, and give the Guitar quite a work out using her spider like fingers as you spot on mentioned. Another magnificent voice that should be much better known in the US than it is. Such passion and empathy. I honestly don't think that there is anyone who can match her.

I knew that Hazuki (the guitarist with the glasses) from Nemophila is also playing in Koiai, but I never listened to it. This jazzy poppy stuff is very different from the rock / metal / metalcore she does in Nemophila, but somehow I like it.

If you want more detailed analysis on Torrey Holub. Check out another Channel called Wings of Pegasus. They do a voice analysis. Tori did not use autotune or pitch correction. And to respond to the comment above. She did a performance at a jazz club in St Paul called Crooners a couple months ago. She's sang this song with piano accompaniment only. Apparently it was the first time she sang in front of anybody. It's also on UA-cam.

I had the exact same reaction as you when I first heard this. It is her real voice -- no pitch correction or auto tune. It brought back so many memories for me when I was younger. This girl has brought back that wonderful feeling that Karen imparted to everyone when she sang.

I’m 67 and I felt the same way. I literally felt like I went down a time tunnel and I was 15 again. What an incredible thing this is, she gave us such a gift.

I just want to comment that you pointed out something no one else has done reacting to this song. That is, how the lyrics are made, turning this into a confession that SHE is a bad valentine. I love that too, and didn`t expect that. It`s so refreshing and different. Her vocals, her emotive abilities, and her talent stand out by itself, and I can`t find the right words anymore to describe how amazing she is. The band in the first room is AnnenMayKantereit. Henning May in the brown shirt with the deep voice is part of this band (Christian Annen and Severin Kantereit are his bandmates - therefore the name. And they do have other musicians who join them as well, like the trumpet and bass here) Can't go wrong with anything they did! They have some awesome english covers up on their channel! If you're up for it I also recommend listening to some of their original songs in german (preferably with a good translation of the lyrics to go along with it, so you can appreciate the song fully :). The second band is Giant Rooks, and Fred Rabe is their singer. (They do get lost a little bit in direct comparison to Henning but are genuinely really good, too, and worth a listen! I am an immense blues fan. And I consider Stevie and Jimi 2 of the best ever. And she just crushed this. But what blows me away (I am extremely familiar with the original and the SRV interpretation) is this not a cover. Not really. This is her own interpretation. It's more low end and jazzy, compared to Jimi's very hippied out song, and Stevie's pure blues version. She's taking chances, improvising, and pulling it off. That is what truly impressed me. Great reaction!
